Let's not forget!

Ironically these items seem small by comparison, but are huge steps towards occupying our house!

#1 - The well,
we couldn't find the camera the day the drillers were out, so we missed all the big equipment mobilization...

#2 - The often under-appreciated garage door... we picked out that color with the intent of painting the rest of the house that color. For those of you not familiar with cement siding. It is like cedar board siding in that it has to be painted - the jury is still out on how often, but 10-12 years... and it is way more durable than cedar, and it just looks more like wood than the good old vinyl siding...

#3 - The location of the sanitary sewer system or THE MOUND. In order to keep our costs down (I laugh at that idea now, but I digress), Blaine and the boys cleared the area where the mound is to go. One very hot, muggy weekend in June and the spot was clear. Now if the weather just holds and soil dries out enough, we will have an effluent location!

More catching up!

Here is a view of the other additional window... I think it all looks much better than it did... you have to imagine, we don't seem to have any before pics! Plus now these two bedrooms now have southern exposure windows...

Drywall was hung in ohhh about a DAY! The mudder obviously took a little longer, but these guys were quick....

Catching up

Once again, I have been a slacker about uploading and keeping everyone posted on our activity...
This picture is of the concrete flatwork done on the back covered porch, we also got our front stoop poured at this time as well as the basement floor... whoo wee! Our windows have been in for awhile, but at the last minute as the were starting to put on the cement siding boards, I realized that the 2nd floor south side of the house needed more windows than just the one in the bathroom. The original house design had different roof pitches and a walkout balcony and during the changes we missed that little detail... So in 48 hours our contractor managed to get 2 new holes cut out (some siding had to be cut as well) and windows installed.... yeah - the one on the corner in this picture is one of the windows... the middle one is the original bathroom window.
Just a view of the back of the house completely sided and windows trimmed. That's as far back as I could get to take the picture, b/c the woods are right there... we have some more clearing to do

Inside framing, and insulation! I knew we paid these guys the big bucks for a reason... I never would have thought about the fact that once the walls are in its impossible to get a big garden tub or a large one-piece shower unit and tub into their positions... but they were put in well before the walls were in the way!

view of the master bath tub looking into the adjacent bedroom, its so open, I thought it would have been cool to leave it this way?!?!

The fireplace before everything else is put in around it!
